A descendant needs a documented burial location for Simeon FOOT/FOOTE in or around Crawford County, Ohio.
According to current research, Simeon Foot was born 12 March 1772 in Litchfield County, Connecticut. He and his family removed to Charlotte, Vermont, after his grandfather passed away in 1797 and prior to the 1800 U.S. Census. By the time of the 1840 U.S. Census, Simeon and his family lived in Chatfield township, Crawford County, Ohio. Simeon’s wife was Phebe (née Beach) and their children included: Simeon Jr. (b. 1829 possibly in Crawford County) and Ann Eliza (b. 1837 in Crawford County).
Simeon was called to Heaven on 30 Oct 1851 and we assume he was buried somewhere in or around Chatfield (conclusion based on available documents and no contradictory evidence to suggest otherwise). No gravesite or marker location is known at this time, and available indexes of names for Crawford County and Ohio cemeteries do not include a Simeon Foot/Foote.
Records also indicate that Simeon & Phebe owned approximately 50 acres of land located “upon the south part of the east half of the south-west quarter of section twelve, in township one, south of range sixteen in said Crawford County, Ohio” (mortgage dated September 1844).”
