Thursday, September 17 2026. 7PM. Bucyrus Public Library lower level. Member Linda Collins will present practical advice on using Artificial Intelligence (AI) for genealogy, with a focus on ChatGPT, a free program. She will demonstrate picture creation and enhancement; writing an ancestor’s life story; creating a quizzes and poems; researching places in historical context and generating maps; breaking through genealogical brick walls; and transcribing handwritten documents. The uses of AI in genealogy are only limited to your imagination!

The next meeting of the Richland County Genealogical Society is Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the OGS Library at 2:00 pm. The speaker is Deb Kitko, Librarian at the Genealogy Section of the Wayne County Library, and the topic is: “Ohio Church Records: Finding Your Ancestors in Church Records and Histories.” 

Church records are often the only source of records before 1850, so they are a valuable resource for breaking down your brick walls.
