Since the copies are not of the best quality errors may have been made. Please contact us if you find corrections needing to be made or can verify any missing dates which could be added.

KILLED BY FALLING TREES.

Lon Garner meets with a Fatal Accident while Falling Trees.

Last Wednesday afternoon while Lon Garner and John Whitcum were engaged in cutting timber on the Hettich farm about 5 miles southwest of this place, Mr. Garner was caught by two falling trees, receiving injuries which proved fatal.
After the accident Mr. Whitcum summoned aid and had the unfortunate victim brought to his home where medical aid was summoned. An examination revealed no broken bones but all ugly scalp wound near the base of the skull. He was in an unconscious state and never rallied, dying at 11:10 o’clock Wednesday night.
Funeral services will be held from the M, E. church next Sunday forenoon, with interment in Union cemetery.
