Class of 1885

  • Nettie Snyder accepted a position in the Galion office of the Standard Oil Co. Later she married Mr. Frank Motsinger and still resides in Galion.
  • Zoe Cowden led a retired life. She married Mr. Frank Chipperfield. Died Feb. 27, ‘05 at Dayton, O.
  • Prosper Gregg took up work with the Erie R. R. in Galion, and for one year in Georgia. He is now an Erie engineer residing in Galion.
  • Ida McFarquhar taught in the Galion schools for several years, then married Mr. Christy Smith, and still lives in Galion.
  • Blanche Davis worked in a telephone office at Fort Wayne, Ind. She married Mr. Diffenberfer. She has since died.
  • Jennie Logan taught school a short time, retired, and later married Mr. Clinton Schauck, and still resides in Galion.
  • John McIntosh continued his studies at the Philadelphia school of Pharmacy, and is now the partner in the Shull Bros. drug store in Philadelphia.
  • Olivia Mochel married Mr. Beringer, and now lives at Fremont, Ohio.
  • D. E. Zimmerman accepted a position as clerk in W. Helfrichs shoe store. He then went into the shoe business with his father. Later he moved to a farm, remaining a few years. He is at present engaged in the Fire Insurance business in Galion.
  • John Wineland was collector for the Citizen’s Natl. Bank of Galion. Later he went to Jackson, Mich. where he became book-keeper for the Fuller Buggy Co. He became a partner in the same company. He is at present in the buggy business at Elkhart, Ind.
  • Belle McManus married Mr. Rowley, and now lives at Columbus, O.
  • Ida Wentzell is now living at her home in Harper’s Ferry, Virginia.
  • May Rogers moved to Cleveland where she is employed as a nassagist.
  • Chick Mastick is a trimmer in the millinery establishment of Mrs. Dice in Galion.
